Joan Thiessen arrived at Micah House at the beckoning of our first Board Chair, Kenneth Leslie. Ken was an extraordinary volunteer in his own right and he sought out the very best to fulfill the needs of this new ministry.
Joan enthusiastically signed on as the Micah House bookkeeper and has held that role until two weeks ago. That's 16 years. What an amazing run, Joan!
It was with sadness that Joan shared with me her decision to retire. She has been as much a part of this ministry as anyone, and no one has been here longer.
She and Len are doing well but just needing some more room in life right now.
